In May 2020, Shaun published a book about the eight year roller coaster creative journey that he, Stephen Keeling and Stephen Dexter embarked on when they decided to write Maddie, which premiered in Salisbury in 1996 and London’s West End in 1997.

The journey involved encounters with Stephen Sondheim, Cameron Mackintosh and other great theatre names of the 1990s.

In early 2023, Andrew Winans, the up-and-coming US choreographer approached the team about a revival. It began with a staged reading in March 2023.

This was followed swiftly by a concert performance at the legendary 54 Below cabaret room.

In November 2023, the revised version of Maddie played the New York Theater Festival where it won the Best Score award.

Under the direction of Andrew Winans, Maddie will played a season at the Players Theater New York in May-June 2025. The cast was led by Kelly Maur, Joe Lewis, Lexis Techak, Shannon Payette Seip, Alexander Todd Torrenga and Truman Griffin.
